SPECIALIZING IN AFFORDABLE SMALL BUSINESS DESIGNS
Design Guidelines
# 1.  Moderation Is The Best Policy.  Stay True To Your Product Line And Site Objectives
Starting with a simple and direct design, adding more design later is not a problem.  But, keep in mind that
you do not want to confuse your customers/clients with unrelated design elements.

# 2.  Navigation Should Be Direct And Interlinking.
Keeping the navigation tools uniform and easy to locate is the objective.  Using pop-up windows and drop down notes for small but related information is best and a suggested method.  If needed, including "back to" buttons" are helpful. Keeping your customers on the main page of your site (Product page and/or Ordering page) is the goal.  Utilizing the small information pages that do not move your customers/clients from the main pages is a very good way to accomplish this goal...
Home Page
# 3. Logo And/Or Company Name Address And Phone Number
Your Company Logo and/or Company Name, address and Phone Number will appear on every page.
Logos/company name on additional pages other than the Home Page will be relatively smaller in size and
located uniformly in each additional page.
# 4. Unrelated Photos, Clip art, And Animation
While non-product photos, clip art, and animation are cute, you may want to think about eliminating these
elements from your Web Site. It is strongly suggested that you keep your company image in a business tone.
Unless you are selling this type of product.

Keep in mind the more images that need to upload for your customers/clients to view, the longer it will
take to load.  Customers/clients who do not have Cable or DSL access may not have the time or patience
needed to load your site.
# 5. Information Over Kill
Long and lengthy information may not be read by your customers/clients.  If long and lengthy information is
needed, it is best to make it printable for later reading.  Customers/clients can always contact you by phone or
email for additional information.
# 6. Viewing Competitors Web Sites
Checking out the Web Sites of your competitors or related fields of business is a good idea.  See what you like or dislike about their web sites.. However, we may not copy or reproduce any part of another web site.  Your Web Site will be unique and designed just for your Company, to represent you and your product/service.
# 7. Using Current Brochures, or Other Company Advertising Materials
Using elements of your current brochure or other advertising material is always a good idea.  Staying uniform
and having ready art work, photos, design layout and other proven materials can be a cost and time saving
advantage.
# 8. Web Site Maintenance
Once your web site is completed, and you desire on-site training for maintenance, be sure to designate the
proper personnel.  Your decision should be guided by the designated person's available time, computer knowledge, and trustworthiness.
